Israel leaders believe that they should own all of the land from the Nile River to the Euphrates River.  The two lines in the Israeli flag depicts those two rivers.  This is the reason for the US attacks on Iraq and other middle eastern countries, but that has failed.  It does not mean that they will quit their attempts to take those lands. They never stop pursuing their goals because remember, they are led by Gog. 

The dream of King Nebuchadnezzar, King of Babylon was of a statue of a man made up of gold, silver, brass, iron and clay.  Daniel, the prophet, interpreted the dream for the king.  Each metal represents a kingdom/nation.  Gold represents the King of Babylon (605-539BC), silver represents Medio-Persia (539-331BC), brass represents Greek empire (331-146BC), Legs of iron represents Roman Empire (146BC - 476AD) in the west and (1453AD) in the east).  The feet are mixed with iron and clay.  Iron may represent a military presence but it could also represent the demonic kingdom while clay represents mankind.  Jesus is the coming kingdom which will destroy the toes of iron and clay and when the toes are destroyed, the statue falls which represents all nations. Jesus' kingdom will stand forevermore.  King Nebuchadnezzar made a real statue with all of these metals and stood it in the land of Dura.  Dura means 'circle' and it appears then that the world government will come full circle.

In Ezekiel 39:3-7 God states that He will "smite thy bow out of thy left hand, and will cause thine arrows to fall out of thy right." "Thou shalt fall upon the mountains [kingdoms] of Israel, thou, and thy bands, and the people that is with thee: I will give thee unto the ravenous birds of every sort, and to the beasts of the field to be devoured."  "Thou shalt fall upon the open field: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord God."
And I will send a fire on Magog, and among them that dwell carelessly in the isles: and they shall know that I am the Lord."  "So will I make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel [born again Christians]; and I will not let them pollute my holy name any more: and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel."  These weapons are spiritual in nature inasmuch as they are those which are used to control and have power over the people by use of deception.

God's chosen people 'Israel', born again Christians, and those whom call themselves 'Christians' will stop believing in the lies, propaganda and deception which is as smoke in their eyes.  They will see the truth about those who call themselves the chosen ones and will stop believing that lie and learn that it is they themselves who are the chosen ones, but that will not occur until Jesus comes for the body of the church with its overcomers and the overcomers are those who know the truth and are without sin.  They are those two commands given by Jesus Christ: 1. Love the Lord they God with all thy heart, mind, soul and strength and 2. Love thy neighbor as thyself.  These are the overcomers who have learned the truth about those who are imposters and they will do exactly as Jesus commanded which is why we are to pray for them that they repent and give their lives to Jesus Christ that they too may be saved by grace.  We are not to bless them but to pray for them.

Ezekiel 39:8-10 is about how God's people Israel, the born again Christians, will destroy the weapons of Gog and Edom.  These are spiritual weapons because we know that we cannot burn steel for use in cooking and that to which we warm ourselves. No, these are burned when we learn the truth about the deception being perpetrated throughout the world.  Karl Marx, a Jew, said; "Give me 26 lead soldiers and I will conquer the world".  Marx is referring to the 26 letters of the English alphabet.  Thousands and millions of books have been written that are based on lies and propaganda to distort history and science and the truth of this world.  This is how our children have become so brainwashed today in buying into the lie that socialism, which is, in reality, communism is the way to live.  We know socialism does not work and we only need to look to those countries which live in socialism such as Venezuela which was once a wealthy nation but now the people suffer.  God allows cruel kings/leaders and punishes nations with famine, pestilence, beasts (demonic entities) and sword (war) when the people turn their backs on God.  God installs kings and removes kings as told to us in Daniel 2:20-21.  This is why we are to never talk badly about a leader which God has installed, but to pray that God forgive the nation and again bless the nation.  See 2 Chronicles 7:14.

Many times in the prophets are we told how the Lord will bring 'out

 of the north' those whom will destroy.  Out of the north is the center

 of the earth; from hell below and heaven above which are the beasts 

of the field (demons) and fowls of heaven (evil/fallen angels).  When

 you read and study Ezekiel 31, understand that it is speaking of the 

time before the flood in the days of Noah.  For instance, beasts of 

the earth are animals and fowls of the air are birds unlike beasts of 

the field (those who died in the flood which are now demons) and 

fowls of heaven which are the fallen angels.  The demons and fallen 

angels then possess the men/women of armies making them cruel 

and without mercy.  2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and  turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven,  and will  forgive their sin, and will heal their land."

So, when those spiritual weapons are destroyed, it will be when the people will burn those thousands and millions of books based on lies, propaganda and deception.  Today, people in England are using old books in their stoves with which to cook and heat their homes.  This is how all of those books/weapons will be destroyed.
